UPDATE:

According to a release from Sheriff Steve Deweese, a substation near Hurricane High School is the cause of the issue.

The release says that a portable unit is coming from Logan, WV.  Even with the portable unit, the estimated restoration time is 9:00 p.m. for the first customers.  More power will be restored overnight.

Warming stations are open at the YMCA in Teays Valley and the National Guard Armory in Eleanor.

AEP is reporting about 3,600 customers without power in Putnam County.
