HUNTINGTON, WV -

A tip to the Child Protective Services hotline lead to the arrest of two parents in Huntington.

Marissa Boyle, 23, and Wesley A. Rowe, 36, both of Marcum Terrace, are charged with felony child neglect resulting in injury; child neglect creating risk of injury, according to court documents.

Officers with the Huntington Police Department were dispatched January 10, just after 10:30 p.m. to check on the welfare of the couples two-year-old after a tip stating the parents were possibly passed out and the young child had been crying for hours. Officers say when they got to the home, after 10 minutes of banging on the door, Boyle answered with slurred speech.

Officers say when they found Rowe he was "passed out" in the master bedroom with 18 Clonazepam pills scattered on the floor. Officers say the pills were accessible to the toddler who was found in another bedroom of the home. Officers say Rowe admitted to snorting the pills and doing so on a daily basis. Officers also say the two had pill residue in their noses.  Boyle and Rowe were taken to the Western Regional Jail. Bail was set at $50,000 for both.
