One man arrested on drug charges in Cabell County, WV

One man is in jail on various charges, including drugs, in Cabell County, WV.

According to Sgt. G.N. Losh, Huntington Detachment Commander with the West Virginia State Police, troopers responded to what they were told was a check welfare complaint at the Huntington Inn, located at 4644 U.S. Route 60, at around 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.

When troopers arrived on the scene, they entered a room where Grady E. Smith, Jr., 43, of Kitts Hill, OH, was staying.

Sgt. Losh says that upon investigation, troopers found inside his room bath salts, crack, meth, prescription pills, $359 in cash, and a .380 caliber pistol, that was stolen.

Smith, a convicted felon, was arrested and charged with possession with intent, felon in possession of a firearm, and receiving and transferring stolen property.

Smith is being held in the Western Regional Jail on a $15,000 bond.
