House destroyed by fire in Jackson County, WV

JACKSON COUNTY, WV -

A house was destroyed by a fire in Jackson County, WV.

According to Chief Michael Morrison with the Cottageville Volunteer Fire Department, who was one of the units who responded to the scene, it happened on Ripley Road in Cottageville around 3 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25.

Morrison said that when units arrived on the scene, the fire was fully involved.

The family who had been living in the house were living elsewhere at the time of the fire, due to water problems.

No injuries were reported.

According to Chief Morrison, the cause of the fire is not yet known, but it is not believed to be suspicious.

Along with the Cottageville Volunteer Fire Department, the volunteer fire departments in Ripley, Ravenswood, and Silverton also responded to the scene of the fire.
