POINT PLEASANT, WV -

Emotions ran high in a packed Point Pleasant High School auditorium Saturday afternoon. As hundreds paid their respects to Braxton Smith and his sister, Tiffany Grant. Both whom lost their lives from injuries in a house fire Saturday, Jan 18.

"I am deeply moved. The family is deeply moved by all the support you have given to our family," said their father, Bill Smith.

With heavy hearts, the day was about remembering their lives and sharing some laughs.

"School came easy to her. She got the Presidential Scholarship and went onto Marshall University and played in the band," Smith said.

"We're bowling and in comes Braxton strolling in with a big old plate of chicken tenders and fries," said Scott Johnson, his youth football coach.

The family even received a hand-written note from Braxton's favorite team, the Seattle Seahawks.

As the last week, and the weeks going forward will be difficult, there's some comfort knowing that both are now resting in heaven.

"I may be down, my family may be down, my son and daughter may have lost the battle, but they won the war," said Smith.
