House destroyed by fire in Boone County, WV

According to Captain Larry Rash with the Wharton-Barrett Volunteer Fire Department, the house is a total loss.

Capt. Rash says that the house owner told fire crews that the fire started in the attic, and that the fire was believed to be caused by wiring.

No one was hurt in the fire.



Crews are on the scene of a house fire in Boone County, WV.

According to dispatchers, it happened in the area of Greenwood Circle, near Wharton, at 8:18 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Dispatchers say no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire or the extent of damage is not yet known.

The Wharton-Barrett Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the Van Volunteer Fire Department are on the scene.
