House destroyed by fire in Putnam County, WV

UPDATE:

According to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department, the house was a total loss.

No one was home at the time of the fire, however, two dogs were killed in the fire.

A firefighter with the Buffalo VFD was taken to a hospital after glass went through his boot and hurt his foot.

The Buffalo VFD says that the cause of the fire is undetermined, but was believed to be caused by a heater.

The fire remains under investigation.

Crews are on the scene of a house fire in Putnam County, WV.

According to dispatchers, it happened in the area of Cross Creek Road, between Railroad Avenue, Pickens, and Central Avenue, at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Dispatchers say no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, however, dispatchers say the house reportedly suffered heavy damage.

The Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department and the Eleanor Volunteer Fire Department are on the scene.
