UPDATE: Arrest made in Huntington, WV hit and run accident

Nancy L. Mathis of Huntington, WV has been charged with a hit and run causing injury according to the Huntington Police Department. 

Police say that at 7:01 a.m., on Friday Jan 31, 2014, a vehicle hit a 13 year old female pedestrian at the intersection of 10th Street and 9th Avenue.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of facial wounds.

A witness told police the vehicle was traveling north on 10th street and hit the teen. The witness also gave a description of the hit and run vehicle as silver or white Chrysler Sebring convertible.

At 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan 31st a vehicle matching the description was located in the 1100 block of 6th Avenue.

Investigators were able to link the vehicle to the incident by matching evidence and arrested Mathis.



A 13-year-old girl was hit by a silver Chrysler Sebring near 10th Street and Ninth Avenue.

The girl was taken to the hospital and she is expected to recover.  

The car left the scene and was last seen heading north.
