Kanawha County says bulk water tankers and buffaloes have remained at distribution sites as long as temperatures did not dip below the freezing mark.

The tankers have been removed from the distribution sites when this has occurred.

Officials add that residents should be aware the water tankers have been returned to the Kanawha County at the designated sites based on the current temperatures.

Additionally, when water tankers run out they have been filled-up by West Virginia American Water in the Huntington and Montgomery area.

It does take several hours for tankers and buffaloes to be filled back up and then return to distribution sites in Kanawha County. There may be a period of time before a resident has to wait to fill up water containers if this has occurred.
