CHARLESTON, WV -

Friends and family held a candlelight vigil on Monday, Feb.10, to remember a Charleston, WV man who died one year ago, Michael Cassel.

In February 2013, police said that a man named Patrick Price shot Cassel inside his home located on Red Oak Street in Charleston.

Friends and family remembered Cassel, a father and husband, as a hero. Cassel had reported Price for abusing a child according to police. Charleston police were investigating the case and officers believe Price was motivated by revenge.

At the time of the murder, Cassel family members expressed their desire to have people remember him as a man who stood up for children, speaking out against abuse because it is the right thing to do.
