MARTINSBURG, WV -

Rust-Oleum Corporation is moving into new distributionoperations to Martinsburg, according to The Berkeley County DevelopmentAuthority.

 The company will lease approximately 630,000 square feet ofspace at the Shockey Commerce Center at 891 Auto Parts Place, theformer GM building, and plans to employ between 80 and 100 workers in thefacility.

 Rust-Oleum is a manufacturer of protective paints andcoatings for home and industry use.

 "We have been working since April with Rust-Oleum to helpthem find the best solution to their needs for distribution space," saidStephen Christian, Executive Director of the Berkeley County DevelopmentAuthority. "There has been detailed analysis of a variety of solutions, includinga possible new build-to-suit warehouse. The competition is always strong in oursection of the I81 corridor, but the longer Rust-Oleum examined the market, thebetter Berkeley Countylooked. And the more they liked Shockey's existing building solution."

 "The I-81 corridor is strategically important to our longterm success, and service for our East Coast customers," said Barry Horner, VPLogistics and Operations for Rust-Oleum Corp. "Berkeley County, and the stateof West Virginia demonstrated a pro-business attitude and competitive businessenvironment. We're very happy to be investing in West Virginia."

 Rust-Oleum will be consolidating operations from its Marylandfacilities into the new space.
