A building in Saint Albans, WV was evacuated Wednesday morning after part of a hill slid into the building.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, the West Virginia State Police and several fire depts. responded to the slide, according to dispatchers.  The slide happened just past the intersection of US-60 and WV 817 (Old US 35).

The building was condemned, and family members spent the day trying to get things out of the building.

The gas was shut off in the area just as a precaution.

According to the WV DOT, US 60 and WV 817 will both remain open but W. Main Street will continue to be blocked at the intersection near the building.
