DAVIS, WV (AP) -

Skiers will have an extra three weeks to hit the slopes at Canaan Valley Resort.

The Tucker County resort is extending its ski season to March 23. The extension applies to downhill slopes, beginners ski area, tubing park and ice skating area.

West Virginia State Parks district administrator Paul Redford said Thursday that Canaan has received more than 130 inches of snow this winter.

Earlier this week, Snowshoe Mountain Resort announced that it has added a weekend in April for skiing and snowboard. Snowshoe will temporarily close on March 30 and reopen on April 5 and April 6.
