HUNTINGTON, WV -

It was loads of fun Thursday, Feb. 20, at Ohio University's Southern Campus. The university participated in what's known as Recyclemania. RecycleMania is a statewide effort across Ohio colleges and universities who compete to accumulate the most recyclable material. In two weeks the school was able to collect about 2400 pounds of trash and recycled about 1000 pounds of it.

Adam Riehl, Facilities Manager at OUSC, says it's important to get people thinking about where their trash goes. "This Mt. Trashmore is an exhibit to help us demonstrate and make people think about where that can goes or where that bottle goes or the piece of paper when they throw it in the waste receptacle," Riehl said.

Last year OUSC came in third place, which is quite an accomplishment coming from such a small regional campus.
