MORGANTOWN -

A Charleston man was arrested in Monongalia County after a suspicious package was found by the Inspectors of the United States Postal Service.

The Mon Valley Drug Task Force arrested Casey Fitzgerald, 21, Friday afternoon.

The Mon Valley Drug Task Force was informed about a suspicious package that was intended for an address in Morgantown.

Agents utilized a K9 to assist with determining that the package contained a controlled substance.

A search warrant was later conducted which determined the contents of the package to be bulk marijuana in excess of ten pounds, according to a press release.

Agents identified the recipient of the package and took Fitzgerald into custody.

He was arraigned Monongalia County Magistrate Holepit and was held on $25,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and other suspects have been identified in the operation using the U.S. Postal Service in the marijuana delivery scheme, the press release said.
