MORGANTOWN -

The sale of the Waterfront Place Hotel to a Colorado-based company is final.

In a joint release, Mermaid, LLC ("Mermaid") and Stonebridge, LLC announced the sale of the hotel and event center.

The hotel was built by philanthropist Milan "Mike" Puskar and completed in 2003. His daughter, Johanna Puskar, said in a statement "Dad loved people and he knew and cared about the employees at the hotel like they were family. I appreciate the way he was treated and even catered to by them and I have no doubt they will honor his memory by maintaining a high level of service to the guests and visitors. I wish Stonebridge great success with the hotel."

Stonebridge is based in Denver, Colorado.

Morgantown City Council approved to have the city manager update the documents for the property's new owner.
