Owner and Dentist,
Warnick and Semder Dentistry
Scott Depot, 36
The past four years have been a very busy time for Melissa Warnick.
"I've bought a business, added an addition on to that business, brought on two partners, added a second location while we also took a year to build our house," she said.
In addition to the dentistry work she does, including surgeries, Warnick also handles a lion's share of the management and business end of the company.
All while also fulfilling duties as wife and mother at home.
"I'm really hoping that 2014 can be as slow as I can make it," she shared with a laugh. "I'd like to take more evening walks and hang out with family more."
Warnick could certainly be described as a motivated person.
"I work hard so that I can play hard," she explained. "We like to get away; we are planning to spend a week camping this year, and we'll go to Snowshoe (Mountain Ski Resort) for a weekend and spend time with my family. We also plan on visiting with friends in South Carolina. I'm looking forward to some summer fun too."
Despite having a large and successful business in South Carolina for some time, the Warnick family decided to come back home to West Virginia.
"We wanted to be closer to our families," Warnick said. "It's wonderful here, very peaceful living. I love it."
Warnick is a Randolph County native, and she earned an exercise physiology degree from West Virginia University.
And she has made healthy living a part of her family's life.
"I love to run," she said. "And I like to cook. It's a lot of work, planning meals. But it's also a lot healthier."
