ORIGINAL:

High winds have knocked out power across parts of West Virginia and Kentucky.

Nearly 10,000 customers are without power across parts of Wayne County with power fluctuations noted across many other counties in our region.

Wayne Elementary, Middle and High school are closing early today among many other schools.

Also, the Cabell Huntington Hospital Family Medical Center at Kenova has closed for the day (Wednesday, March 12) due to a power outage.  Normal operations should resume Thursday, March 13.

Other power outages include parts of Kanawha and Boone counties with up to 1,000 and 1,300 respectively.

Winds will continue today at 20 to 45mph as temperatures rapidly change today and tonight.
