CHARLESTON, WV -

This afternoon Earl Casdorph of Sissonville got to enjoy one of his favorite things, watching the Sissonville girl's basketball team.

"They shoot it nice, and they're nice girls," he said.

A couple months shy of his 91st birthday, Earl got to take in the AA championship game against Westside.

"It's thrilling, real thrilling. I really enjoy it," he said.

Seeing them play in the state championship game is especially exciting for Casdorph, due to having some health issues in the past.

"I had open heart surgery in 1981, and I had 17 stints since that, he said. But, they didn't close me up. I still go to basketball games, and church when the doors are open."

Sissonville ended up falling, 43-33 to Westside. Despite the loss, Earl is optimistic that next season they'll get the job done.

"We'll get it next year," he said.
