Second 'Superload' Set to Move Through Marshall County

Posted: Updated:

A second "superload" soon will be moving through Marshall County.

The equipment is set to start its journey this Sunday, March 22, and will follow the same route the previous superload took, on its way to the Williams Energy site near Cameron.

It is expected to be a three-day move.

The load will travel from the CSX rail yard in Benwood early Sunday morning and will make its way down WV 2 south. It will then turn onto WV 86 and stop at the WV 88 intersection. The load will stop here for the night.

On Monday, the load will continue down W.Va. 88 onto U.S. 250, making its way to Pleasant Valley, where it will stop for the night.

On Tuesday, the load will continue down U.S. 250 onto Fork Ridge Road until reaching the Williams site near Cameron.

A massive load of natural gas industry equipment for Williams moved through the county last month, traveling slowly from the CSX rail yard to the Oak Grove facility near Cameron, causing traffic trouble for drivers on Route 2.
