Scioto County, OH man charged with cooking meth

A Lucasville man is facing charges after officers say he was cooking meth. 

Paul M. Wampler, 51, is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and illegal assembly and/or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force in Scioto County. 

Wampler is already awaiting sentencing on meth charges he pleaded guilty to earlier this year. 

Detectives say they went to Wampler's home Tuesday, March 18, at 11 a.m., and found the chemicals and other materials needed to cook methamphetamine. The news release continued stating, "Some of the chemicals and materials were found hidden underneath clothing in a dryer."

Detectives also said they discovered a suspected pseudoephedrine extraction process ina soda bottle. Wampler was taken to the Scioto County Jail.
