Two arrested after traffic stop leads to drug bust in Boone County, WV

Two men are in jail after a traffic stop leads to arrests in Boone County, WV.

According to Lt. Michael Baylous with the West Virginia State Police, Corey Sherod, 24, of Charleston, and Keith McCloud, 54, of Chapmanville, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver imitation of a controlled substance, and conspiracy.

Both Sherod and McCloud were stopped by Cpl. K.D. Harper, with the Madison County detachment of the West Virginia State Police, on Tuesday, March 18, in the area of U.S. Route 119 near 6 Mile Road in Boone County.

Harper seized a large amount of cocaine and handguns from their vehicle.

Both Sherod and McCloud are being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.
