PRINCETON, WV -

The Chuck Mathena Center has welcomed a new executive director, Choskie Harmon.

A native of Princeton, Harmon has been a lifelong participant and supporter of visual and performing arts. At Princeton Senior High School, he was a member of the Madrigal Singers and the first African-American from PSHS to attend the Governor's School for the Arts for vocal training.

He has a bachelor's degree from Concord University, where he studied English and secondary education and taught dance at Princeton Dance Studio, where he remains an instructor.

He has worked teaching middle and high school English and most recently taught theater at Bluefield High School.

An award-winning choreographer, he has had his work featured locally and throughout the states of Virginia and West Virginia. He has performed numerous times at the West Virginia Dance Festival in Charleston.

His appointment begins a new chapter at the center, where the 2013-2014 season will include "Driving Miss Daisy" and a Buddy Holly tribute.
