Brush fire reported in Jackson County, WV

Crews responded to a brush fire in Jackson County, WV.

According to dispatchers, it happened at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in the area of 266 Haven Lane, off Spicewood Road in Goldtown, which is in Kenna.

According to firefighters with Station 70 of the Southern Jackson Volunteer Fire Department, someone was burning cardboard boxes and a barrel, but the fire quickly got out of control. 

At least three acres were burned.  No one was injured, and the fire did not come near any houses or structures.

The fire was contained around 8 p.m. 

Along with Station 70 of the Southern Jackson Volunteer Fire Department, Station 30 of the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene to assist, however, the fire was successfully put out before they arrived.
