On March 27, Morgantown Police were dispatched to 75 Wall Street in Monongalia County for a call about a man hanging by a rope outside of an apartment building.
Joshua Sheets, 28, was hanging from the building, holding onto a white rope, and he was unable to move. The police helped him get down from the building. Sheets claimed he was trying to rapell from the building because he had seen it on television. He also claimed he drove to the building in his Silver Subaru Legacy and was parked at Riverfront Park, according to a criminal complaint.
Police discovered that Brandon Kirk, a friend of Sheets, was in the vehicle. Both men were taken to the police department and it was eventually determined that the two men were attempting to rob the third floor of the building.
Sheets and Kirk are both facing charges.
