Mission West Virginia hosted an event today at the Bridgeport Conference Center called, 'Breaking the Cycle of Teen Pregnancy.'

The event was open to the public, and aimed at educators, nurses, and health care providers.

The event featured different seminars and a talk from keynote speaker Dr. Mike Thompson, a supervisor at the Mayo Clinic in psychology and psychiatry.

Organizer of the event Torri Childs said she wants the participants to learn to work together to help our youth.

"Its not just one message we're trying to get across, its not just about sex education in the schools, its about all of us coming together in all of the areas we teach our youth in and how everything can work together to help them make better decisions for their future," explained Childs.
