Officials with the West Virginia Office of Miners' Safety, Health and Training have confirmed that there was a mine accident in Greenbrier County late Tuesday night.

A mantrip lost it's brakes on an incline at the Greenbrier Minerals Mountaineer Pocahontas #1 mine.  The incident happened at around midnight on Tuesday, April 1.  Eight miners were reported injured.
