A visit from faculty members and graduate students from West Virginia University's Department of Public Administration will work with the City of Ravenswood April 11 for the "Revitalizing Ravenswood" project.

The visit will be the first phase in a community-driven process designed to create and begin implementing a comprehensive plan for the community, according to information from Ravenswood Mayor Michael Ihle, who also asked for community members to join the team. The visit will allow community members to share stories and perspectives to try to generate a common vision for the future of Ravenswood.

"We are honored and grateful to be working with WVU on this project and to have their expertise on hand as we shape our community's vision and goals," Ihle said. "We hope that the community will join the team on this important project and help us create a vision that we can all pursue."

The WVU team is made up of faculty members, graduate students and community-based professionals that includes experts in land use planning and law, community design, civil and environmental engineering, recreation and tourism, public administration and historic preservation, among other topics.

The first step in "Community Conversations" is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. April 11, again from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. April 11 at Ravenswood High School. Contact Margaret Stout at 304-293-7978.
