A Boone County man faces a third armed robbery charge in Monongalia County.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department charged Timothy Mitchell, 28, of Greenwood, with the armed robbery of the Pilot Travel Center near the Goshen Road exit of Interstate 79 on March 31.

Later that same day, West Virginia State Police and Monongalia County deputies arrested Mitchell and his girlfriend Michelle Barto, 22, at the Morgantown Motel and charged him with the armed robbery of a grocery store and Hot Spot earlier this year.

Barto also faces robbery and conspiracy charges in relation to those crimes, but not in the Pilot Travel Center robbery.

Mitchell also faces a felony charge in relation to a purse-snatching reported at the Shop N Save on Venture Drive on March 29, according to deputies.

Barto was released on bond.

Mitchell remains in the North Central Regional Jail with bond set at $65,000.
