Logan Police Chief E.K. Harper says a call came in Wednesday night of April 16 around 9 p.m. of an armed robbery at Little General in Logan, WV.  He says a white male entered the store wearing a mask and threatened a cashier with a weapon.  The man ordered the cashier to empty the cash register and put the money in a bag.  He then fled with about $600 in cash.

Does this crime sound familiar?  That's because it's happened three other times at Little General in Logan.  This time, however, Logan police were ready.  Chief Harper says Justin Tyler Harvey of Holden, WV was already a suspect in the three other robberies, so police had a head start on where to start their investigation in this latest case.

Harvey was arrested for last night's armed robbery when police found him with the mask and weapon used in the crime.  It wasn't just any weapon; it was a toy gun!  The threat of a weapon still makes it an armed robbery.  Harvey says the cashier wasn't aware it was a toy, so in her frame of mind it was a firearm.

People tend to say location, location, location! Yet, location may be one reason the Little General store has been an easy target.  Harper says it's easy for someone to get in the store and easy to get out because of all the other businesses.  The store is part of Fountain Place strip mall, but it's behind other buildings and out of sight.

Logan police hope this arrest will discourage others from committing armed robbery.  Other charges against Harvey may be pending if police can connect him to the three other armed robberies.
