A New Boston woman is facing charges after investigators say she was stealing from elderly nursing home patients.

Amanda McCalister, 34, is charged with one count of theft from the elderly, according to a news release from Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini.

A patient at Concord Nursing Home in Wheelersburg reported to a family member money was missing from his room on two different occasions. The family member alerted authorities and after an investigation detectives brought McCalister in for an interview. McCalister was indicted by the Scioto County Grand Jury Thursday, April 17. Detectives arrested McCallister the next day.  McCalister was held without bond pending her arraignment in Common Pleas Court.
