CHARLESTON, WV -

Carter Caves State Resort Park is offering a one-day zip line experience on May 3.

The Smoky Bridge High Line Ride will only be open on May 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. but will feature a 200 foot run across the gorge behind the park lodge. Visitors will drop more than 40 feet and pass by Smoky Bridge, the park’s largest natural arch.

Tickets for the experience are $15 and are limited. The tickets are on sale at the front desk of the park or by calling 1-800-325-0059. The tickets will come with a specific time for the ticket holder’s ride.

Anyone under 18 must have their parent or guardian present.

There are restrictions on who can take the zipline. The park says that the line has a weight limit of 250 pounds and the harness must fit in a secure and safe way.  Visitors are encouraged to bring cameras.

Carter Caves State Resort Park is located at 344 Caveland Drive in Olive Hill.

The park also has a lodge, restaurant, cottages and campground. Visitors can also take cave tours, go hiking, horseback riding, swimming, boating or fishing.
