CHARLESTON, WV -
UPDATE:

Tasheem Collins is charged with malicious wounding in the case involving a Charleston, WV bar bouncer who was shot a dozen times at the end of April.

On Tuesday, his case was heard before a magistrate judge in Kanawha County. The attorney representing Collins filed a motion for a bond reduction, but that motion was denied. Collins was taken back to the South Central Regional Jail after the hearing.

His case has been bound over to a grand jury.

Donna Beasley woke up to a terrible nightmare Saturday morning. Charleston police say two men gunned down her husband, Jimmy Beasley, while he worked as a bouncer at a downtown bar. His condition is slowly improving, and now Donna’s attention has turned to the perpetrators.

"They wanted to kill him, there's not even a doubt. To sit there and wait for him, you meant to do it,” said Beasley. “It was premeditated."

Tasheem Collins and George Sawyer have both been charged with malicious wounding. Family members say they are disappointed more serious charges haven’t been filed. Kanawha County Prosecutor Mark Plants says it’s all a part of the judicial process.

“It's always better at the preliminary stage to go with something safer,” he said. “Once all the evidence is collected, this very well may be indicted as attempted murder, malicious wounding, and perhaps a lot of other things."

Both men are being held at South Central Regional Jail. They are being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.

"That's ridiculous…there is no sense they should get out for anything,” said Beasley. “They should sit there and wait, and they should be charged for every hole in his body."

The preliminary hearing is set for next week. Donna Beasley says she will be there to fight for a higher bond, stiffer charges, and justice that her husband deserves.
