Several roads in KY affected by high water

According to Greenup County, KY 911 dispatchers, KY 1 at the 1 mile marker near Lost Creek, KY 2 near the Carter County line at Three Prong, and KY 784 at the 8-9 and 10-11 mile markers near Kehoe are clear of high water.

However, as of 8 p.m. Wednesday, State Route 2 at the State Route 7 Intersection is closed due to high water.  Also, Laurel Road, off of State Route 7 is closed, along with the westbound lane of State Route 784.

Dispatchers also say East Tygart Road is closed between the AA Highway and Bennett's Mill.

The Kentucky Dept. of Highways has issued flood warning for several roads.

As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, water is on the following roadways:

- In Greenup County: KY 1 at the 1 mile marker near Lost Creek; KY 2 near the Carter County line at Three Prong; KY 784 at the 8-9 and 10-11 mile markers near Kehoe

- In Lewis County: KY 344 at the 13-14 mile markers; KY 989 at the 3-4 mile markers; and KY 59 at the 7-9 mile markers

- In Fleming County: KY 3303 at Plummers Mill, road closed

- In Bath County: KY 211 at the 5-6 mile markers near Salt Lick, road closed.  Also, Blevins Valley Road and Step Stone Road are affected by high water. 

High water or water over roadways remains possible throughout the day and night, especially in low-lying or floodprone areas, including the Tygarts Creek Valley in both Carter and Greenup counties, the Rush area of Boyd County, southwest Nicholas County, the Salt Lick and Licking River valleys of Bath and Rowan counties, central Lewis County, etc.
