House destroyed by fire in Charleston, WV

Fire crews responded to a house fire in Charleston, WV.

According to 911 dispatchers, it happened at 1015 Grant Street shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Allen Crago, Assistant Chief with the Charleston Fire Department, who responded to the scene, one house caught fire, causing exposure problems to another house.  No injures were reported.

Grant Street in the area was shut down, but later re-opened.

Crago said the house where the fire occurred is considered a total loss, however, the second house only suffered minor smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Crago said the fire was under control in about 10 minutes, and was put out in less than 30 minutes.

The Charleston Fire Department are investigating.
