Firefighters say neighbors save people from burning home in Kanawha County, WV

MALDEN, WV -

A house burned to the ground Sunday morning, May 4,  in Kanawha County, WV. The fire broke out shortly after 10 a.m. at 460 Campbells Creek Drive. 

Fire rescue crews from Malden Volunteer Fire Rescue quickly responded to the blaze and worked to get the fire under control. The fire was out by 11:15 a.m.

The Malden Volunteer Fire Rescue Chief tells 13 News neighbors grabbed a ladder and got two people out of the home down from the second floor.  The chief says the home next door to where the fire broke out was evacuated as well.  Firefighters say no one was injured as a result of the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
