The Federal Bureau of Investigation is analyzing three homemade chemical explosive devices found outside the Weirton City Building Monday night.

Mayor George Kondik said two devices were found near building entrances, while the third was placed under a police cruiser. He said an officer going inside the building had spotted one of the devices near the door, and a subsequent search of the area yielded two others.

Kondik said all three devices were blown up by city police.

“To the best of our knowledge they were homemade devices,” he said. “We're pursuing it. The FBI is investigating.”
