HUNTINGTON, WV -

A female student at Huntington High School is now facing charges after administrators say she wrote a threatening message on the restroom wall.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. the shooting threat was found written on the wall of a restroom at Huntington High School prompting school officials to take action.

The threat stated that there would be a shooting at the school at 2pm.

Jedd Flowers, Cabell County Schools Director of Communications, says the threat was without evidence and the school called the police department immediately.

Flowers says students stayed in their classrooms until school was dismissed.

Several parents came to the school to sign their children out early after hearing about the situation at the school.

Additional officers patrolled the schools' grounds as a precaution.
