Man arrested for being accused of manufacturing meth in Ashland, KY

One man is in jail after police find several meth labs at a residence in Ashland, KY.

According to a news release issued by the Boyd County Sheriff's Department, 43-year-old James M. Slavens Jr. was arrested Friday, June 6, and was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

The news release says deputies with the Boyd County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit received information about a possible meth lab at a residence at the 2200 block of Eltura Street.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they found meth labs and HCL generators in plain sight on the property.

Deputies contacted the homeowners, who gave consent for them to search the property, after which they found three spend meth labs, as well as two HCL generators.

According to the news release, deputies located Slavens, who was being accused of manufacturing meth, at his work place and arrested him.

Slavens is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.

The news release says the residence was condemned, and more arrests are pending.
