    At the West Virginia Broadband Conference: Investing in the Future, at the Charleston Mariott Town Center Aug. 19, presenters highlighted the multiple sectors in the Mountain State's 11 planning and development regions that received monetary funds through a grant by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration of the United State Department of Commerce.

According to a June 9 news release, private equity firm Sycamore Partners plans to re-launch Coldwater Creek as an “independent portfolio company.

Sycamore Partners has acquired the Coldwater Creek Brand and other intellectual property in conjunction with Coldwater Creek’s ongoing Chapter 11 proceedings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

“Coldwater Creek is an outstanding brand with a 30-year heritage and strong support from its loyal base of long-time customers,” said Peter Morrow, a managing director of Sycamore Partners. “We are excited about adding Coldwater Creek to our growing portfolio of leading retail brands and look forward to reintroducing the brand to the marketplace.”

According to the news release, detail about the re-launch of Coldwater Creek “will be provided at a later date.” A spokesperson had no additional comment when asked about specific store locations.

Sycamore Partners specializes in consumer and retail investments. Its portfolio currently includes Aeropostale, Hot Topic, Jones New York, the Kasper Group, Nine West Holdings, Stuart Weitzman and Talbots.

Sycamore raised its first fund in 2011 and currently has more than $3.5 billion in assets under management.
