U.S. Marshals made an arrest in a cold case out of Philadelphia, PA that has been unsolved since January 2000.  Marshals arrested Juan Manuel Pagan in Beckley, WV on Monday June 9, 2014.  Pagan was wanted on charges of Rape, Sexual Assault, Theft, and firearms violations as well as three counts each of Burglary, Assault, Terroristic Threats and False Imprisonment.  The charges stem from a home invasion that involved multiple victims.

Pagan had been serving time at Mt. Olive Correctional Facility until July 2012.   He was being held there on a firearms conviction.  When he was released, a DNA sample was taken to put into the National Offender Database. The DNA sample matched DNA that was taken during the home invasion that happened in 2000.  According to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service, the victim was able to identify Pagan out of a photo lineup. That lead to an arrest warrant being issued on May 19, 2014.

Pagan had been living in the East Park area of Beckley.  Officers with the CUFFED Task Force were able to identify him and took him into custody on Monday.
