CHARLESTON, WV - Two people are in jail after stealing a vehicle from a residence in Charleston, WV.

According to a criminal complaint issued by the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, 21-year-old Kendrick Craig Conrad and 20-year-old Kaci Lynn McGhee were both arrested Tuesday, June 10 after stealing a vehicle from a residence at the 300 block of Park Avenue.

Police spoke to the owner of the vehicle, in which he told police his grandson, Conrad, had stolen the vehicle from his residence.  A neighbor told police that he saw Conrad and two women push the vehicle down an alley way in between 307 and 309 Park Avenue.  Police went to look for it, but did not find it.

According to the complaint, police went back and spoke to the owner of the vehicle, in which he also told them Conrad made a forced entry into both his and his wife's bedroom and that thousands of dollars worth of personal belongings were missing, which included several bags of jewelry, a diamond cluster ring, black pearl necklace, Levono laptop, coin and knife collection, sterling silver silverware, and multiple tool sets.  He told police he believed both Conrad and his girlfriend, McGhee, had stolen the items.

Police later located the vehicle at the 3900 block of Chesterfield Avenue, in which they made a traffic stop.  After stopping the vehicle, police found many of the stolen items, along with a Ruger LC9 semi-automatic pistol, which belonged to Conrad.

McGhee, who was driving the vehicle, which had been hot wired and the steering column was busted, told police she was with Conrad when the vehicle was stolen.

Conrad was charged with grand larceny, a felon in possession of a firearm, and a probation violation.  McGhee was charged with grand larceny and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Both were taken to the South Central Regional Jail.  Conrad's bond was set at $100,000, while McGhee's bond was set at $10,000.
