Cynthia Keely recently honored the Davis Medical Center after the hospital earned the “Get With the Guidelines” Gold Resuscitation Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association.

Keely, the AHA’s Mission Lifeline director, formally presented the award to hospital officials May 17.

“Get With the Guidelines” is a program that helps ensure consistent application of the most recent American Heart Association/American Stroke Association scientific guidelines for patient treatment.

The AHA’s suite of quality programs puts up-to-date guidelines, tools and resources to work in hospitals and outpatient practices across the nation. The program includes in-hospital modules for heart failure, stroke, heart attack and resuscitation, as well as a program for outpatient physician practices.

To date there are more than 2,300 hospitals nationwide taking part in the “Get With the Guidelines” program. To earn the award, DMH demonstrated at least 85 percent compliance in each of four resuscitation recognition measures.
