CROSS LANES, WV - The Poca Volunteer Fire Department are holding a fundraising event to raise funds for the funeral of Crystal Nelson, who died in a vehicle accident in Cross Lanes, WV Thursday.

It is being held at the parking lot of Walmart, located at 100 Nitro Marketplace, in Cross Lanes, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 14, and will be held again at the Poca Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1 Main St., in Poca, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 21.

They are having a hot dog and baked goods sale, as well as a cold water challenge between Walmart employees.

All the money raised will go towards Nelson's funeral, which will be held at the Gatens-Harding Funeral Home. 

Nelson was the sole provider for her family, consisting of her husband and four kids.  She had no life insurance, and her husband is unable to work, due to medical problems.
