BOONE COUNTY, WV - Sara Elizabeth Halstead, 29, of Foster, WV, was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary after homeowners found her standing at the foot of their bed Tuesday.

Halstead gained access to two different homes and took items from each on Tuesday morning, June 17, according to a news release issued by the Boone County Sheriff's Office

She committed these burglaries while the homeowners were inside their residences, according to deputies. At least one of the homeowners was awakened by Halstead and confronted her.

Deputies found several stolen items after she was arrested, indicating there may be other homeowners who are victims of theft.

The investigation is continuing at this time.
