KANAWHA COUNTY, WV -

Three homes were evacuated Tuesday night after a natural gas line ruptured in the Mink Shoals area of Kanawha County, WV, according to crews on the scene.

Authorities said someone was trying to move a trailer in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue and they were digging a footer. A gas line was ruptured in the process.

Several roads in the area were closed while emergency personnel and the gas company worked to resolve the situation.

The leak was capped in about 30 minutes and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
