Three arrested in drug bust in Huntington, WV

HUNTINGTON, WV - Three people were arrested on drug charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence on the 1800 block of West 5th Avenue in Huntington, WV Thursday, June 19.

According to a news release issued by the Huntington Police Department, 39-year-old Herbert Tilghman, 21-year-old Ashley Caudill, and 45-year-old Sonja Ray were arrested by members of the HPD Special Emphasis Unit and the Huntington Violent Crime Federal Drug Task Force.

The arrests occurred as a result of a drug investigation in which detectives received several tips and information about drug dealing at the home.

When police arrived at the residence, they found a distribution amount of heroin, along with scales, packaging material for the sale of drugs, cash, and used needles.

The news release said code enforcement officers also responded to the residence because the living conditions were unsanitary.  The residence remains under a Do Not Occupy order.

Tilghman was charged with possession with intent to deliver, Caudill with maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of drugs, and Ray was charged for having a city warrant for drug paraphernalia.

According to the news release, information obtained from the search warrant may result in more arrests.
