LAS VEGAS, July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark James, Founder, President and CEO of Integrity Vehicle Solutions Company (IVSC), a company focused on bringing technology solutions to the for-hire-vehicle (FHV) industry, appeared before the London Assembly Transport Committee to testify about their Ride Integrity platform and its benefits in providing governing agencies and regulatory bodies. Ride Integrity provides real-time data to manage on-going issues of compliance, fare standardization, transportation planning and the integration into the regulatory framework of new technologies and smartphone apps that operate within the transportation industry.
"Our vision and development of Ride Integrity was based on creating a tool for the ground transportation industry that facilitates greater functionality in managing the complex issues of regulation, compliance and planning. It was designed with all transportation audiences in mind including regulators, fleet owners, drivers and passengers, with the hope that it would create efficiencies, standardization and transparency within the industry," James said.
The public meeting held on July 9, 2014 is one of two that the London Assembly Transport Committee is holding as part of its investigation into the taxi and private hire services in London which will culminate in recommendations to the Mayor of London and Transport for London (TfL), the local governing body of the transport system in greater London. The committee is looking into a variety of issues surrounding taxis and private hire vehicles including the use of technology to improve service, supply and demand within the city, fares, safety and service issues.
James' testimony to the committee focused on how Ride Integrity is currently being utilized by the regulatory agency in the City of San Francisco as a compliance tool and to develop an overall view of all of the for-hire vehicles within their jurisdiction. He described how Ride Integrity provides regulators with capabilities to integrate third party technologies and smartphone apps into the regulatory framework and to digitally interface with fleets and vehicles to eliminate much of the antiquated flow of paperwork that is typically part of the compliance process.
"Ride Integrity's proprietary technology provides a flexible and complete tool for the industry to be able to function more cohesively in the regulated framework by providing real time data as well as historical snap shots of all of the for-hire vehicles in a jurisdiction and providing the capability to focus in on one particular vehicle. The system creates greater efficiency and a digital interface between regulators, fleets and drivers, all of whom exchange information on a regular basis as part of the regulatory process. Additionally, it gives greater transparency and resolution for passengers on issues of route selection, fare dispute and even lost and found. Ride Integrity is a win-win for the industry and its passengers and we already have had tremendous feed-back on the system."
"There is a growing number of technology developers that are taking advantage of the opportunities to leverage the transportation industry and passenger demand, and we want the governing agencies and current fleet owners to know that there is a tool available to them as well to help both with the management of compliance but also fleet operations and integration with third party smartphone apps," said James.
