WV Attorney General warms of E-ZPass scam

Posted: Updated:
CHARLESTON, WV (AP) - West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is warning residents about a scam targeting E-ZPass customers.

E-ZPass allows motorists to pay tolls electronically on turnpikes and toll roads. Morrisey says some customers have received emails from an account that appears to be affiliated with the company. The customers are told they have unpaid toll fees and are directed to click on a link to pay.

The email is not legitimate. The attorney general's office advises consumers not to reply to the email or click on the link. They should just delete it.
