BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Four priests have been elevated to the level of bishop after a ceremony at a Baptist church in Bowling Green.
The consecration ceremony took place Saturday at Eleventh Street Baptist.
The Daily News reported (http://bit.ly/1oWkkNg ) that Bishop Rickey L. Moore Sr. anointed the four men with oil and lay his cloak over them during the ceremony.
The new bishops were consecrated through an international, nondenominational organization known as The International Bishops Conference & Ministers Fellowship Inc.
The new bishops are Thomas Murrell of New Salem Baptist Church in Rockfield, Calvin W. Johnson Sr. of Cross of Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, Charles J. Lawrence of Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport and Michael Russell of Prayers of the Righteous Interdenominational Church in Shreveport.
